John Lewis is a well-recognised chain of upmarket department stores owned by the John Lewis Partnership which operates across the UK. The first store was created in the mid-1800’s and today it has grown to become the largest omni-channel retailer in the United Kingdom with 48 John Lewis shops and a large online business. The first store which opened in 1864 began as a drapery shop, it wasn’t until 1905 that Lewis acquired the second store and later started the John Lewis Partnership in 1920.
